A great day of fishing was had in choppy seas with more birds around that we've ever seen before. They alone were amazing to watch. 3 citations were awarded for excessively large (in excess of 40 lb) fish and 2 citations were awarded for excessively fast driving. Gotta watch your speed on RT 158!! The fishing trip also offered several whale sightings thanks to Marcel's chumming efforts. We also saw schools of dolphin. The cold weather on Saturday didn't keep us from holding the annual circle ball tournament, but due to some no shows it ended up only being one game leaving Mike Bressi and Marcel Tassin as 2012 Circle Ball Champions. One brave soul got up the nerve to plunge into the frigid water following his defeat. Nights seemed to conclude earlier than ever, we really must be getting old. Marcel and Mike also showed their amazing prowess at Kubb, they couldn't be dethroned. Speculation was had as to their familiarity with the grip. Also the first ever game of Beach Qolf was played in some VERY cold and WINDY conditions on Sunday with Mike Snyder coming out the eventual winner with a spectacular play on the last hole. The first ever Texas Hold'em Tournament that actually had EVERY person participate was also held and usual holdout Mike Bressi actually finished in the money with Greg Ball winning the championship. We'll see if these two choose to play next year. The way home was made without incident and the annual stop at the Shamrock capped off a great weekend. Don't miss the 10 year anniversary of the OBXFX January 17th-21st 2013.
Other things to remember: Wenger finally figured out how to make monkey bread. Vazquez didn't back out... he just didn't show up. We don't need so much food! Tom and Butch added a new twist to an old game.
